    Installing mouse themes manually

    Good Day,

Recently started using Ubuntu 8.04 and I am having some difficulty installing mouse themes.
Ok so i downloaded mouse themes from:
    Code:
    http://www.gnome-look.org/
However when i tried to install them using gcursor as the installation instructions stated nothing happens when I click on gcursor i.e. when I click install new theme or go to folder options in gcursor nothing happens.

What i want to know is how to install mouse themes manually without using gcursor.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, you can extract the theme to ~/.icons.
So the cursor theme should be in a folder like this: /home/username/.icons/themename (which should contain a "cursors" folder)

To apply the theme, just go to System>Preferences>Appearance, click "Customize," go to the Pointer tab, and click on the theme there.

That should work, although it's been a while since I've installed a cursor.
