A Carafe of Ubuntu

I have used this page; abc.net.au/perth as my homepage for years. It underwent a redisign last year.It is obviously badly written because it chews my CPU with Firefox in both XP and Ubuntu unless I use addons to block most of the script. What is a good open source GTK browser alternative.
(Same prob with Epihany and I want to keep Ubuntu OSS so Opera is no good.)

You could try the Flash 10 beta/RC/fluffy bunny and see if it's less of a cpu hog. As you said, Flashblocker addons work too; that way you can whitelist sites you know you want the flash displayed on, and at the same time avoid annoying flash tower ads.
