amarok freezes and leaves me without sound

well, just like the title says, amarok freezes and leaves me without sound. it seems to happen randomly. always when i change the track, but randomly as in sometimes i can change tracks freely, with no incident, and sometimes i can't. i can exit out of amarok easily enough, but until i reboot my laptop, i am left without sound.

also, it seems as though i can't get sound playing from multiple sources at the same time when my sound is working.

any suggestions?

BUMP!

also, i think i've discovered the problem is less random than i previously thought. i'm pretty sure the it occurs when i've watched or am watching a flash video in FF and then try to open amarok. if that helps at all.
