Re: Google Chrome threads moved to windows discussions?

I wouldn't say it's a "recurring discussion"? After all, the current fuss is just over the fact that it was released a few hours ago, and all firefox/pidgin etc threads aren't instantly moved there?

For me it just seems a no brainer that these are in the cafe. If I was looking for a google chrome thread, that's where i'd look, and if I didn't find one i'd create it, which would leave the forum looking messy (Which is why there are a 6 google chrome threads moved to windows discussions, and a further 2 new ones in the cafe right now)

It's certainly not a windows discussion though. If you're going down that route then that will set a bad precident to follow and generally leave people scratching their heads. Google Chrome is a cross platform browser of interest to everyone, not just windows users.

btw, here are the threads clogging up the windows forum:

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=907450
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=908548
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=908780
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=908874
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=908641
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=908697

IMHO, the best course of action would be to either move them all to the cafe and let the users pick the one they want to post in, or simply move them all to the cafe and merge them into one massive "Google Chrome Mega Thread"

    Cheers

Re: Google Chrome threads moved to windows discussions?

Since I can't respond to La Roza's thread in her thread in the Resolution Centre, i'll do it in here if I may?

I raised a legitimate question in this forum which i'm glad to see has attracted sensible discussion. Your jokey little thread is childish, irritating, bordering on offensive, and extremely ill advised. Why have you broken off discussion of the issue from the existing thread in here in so juvenile a manner?

In all honesty I have never subscribed to the criticism that is so often directed at you and your behaviour as a moderator. However, by behaving in such a way and demonstrating the complete lack of judgement that you have, you make their criticisms all the more valid

I am very surprised to see that a legitimate concern has been made the subject of fun and derision, and as a consequence along with I myself, which I really don't appreciate.

Can people seeking a review of their infraction expect a similar thread of derision that they are unable to respond to directly?

    Interim decision

I have requested staff to merge the Chrome threads and place them in the recurring discussion area.

    Here they are: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5721494

Some are not part of the thread, ones dealing with specific issues (at the moment)

@Kernel Sanders That thread was mistakeningly posted in the Resolution Centre and I moved it once I realised it. Also, the people who don't like me are those in the OPP, and everyone else has a different opinion. I have stopped regular posting in the OPP anyway.
