    Toshiba Wireless card laptop issue

    Hi All!

I've been wanting to move closer to 100% open source for some time now but when I got my new computer (a toshiba laptop) and ran the live cd of ubuntu on it it was unable to connect to the wireless network card. It did mention that the atheros drivers were proprietary and thus not supported by ubuntu but would that make it so the card didn't work at all? The card is integrated 802.11b/g and it works when I run ubuntu on a virtual machine through vista but not when I run the live cd. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!
