screen and text is funny

ok i been using ubuntu as my main for a long time know its been working great. but now my screen has gone funny my text looks a bit doted and funny.
and when i a, on the internet i can not see text to the left at all less i make the window smaller and move it to the right. i can make it better if i click the buttons on my mounter and make it factory preset. it makes it sort of better. anyone know to fix this i have also tried to formate the hardrive it still dose not fixed this problem. even factory preset dose not fix this.
i meed to fix this else i cant you ubuntu on my computer

If possible I'd try another monitor, but if that's not the case, have you recently made any changes?

You may be able to edit the xorg.conf file to shift the position, but you may also want to make sure you have the right video drivers installed.

do you know what type of video card you have?

thank you mbeach i just fixed this i turend out my mentor reset it selfs or somthing i found away to fix it by chaning the permissions of where things set on the screen with the buttions on the mounter.
