Ok, so it boils down to this:
I am running hardy on a lenovo R61. I have my account and two guest accounts without admin access, with glxoinfo results as follows:
my account: direct rendering: Yes
guest: direct rendering: No
apple: direct rendering: No

I am trying to get some nice affects on the guest accounts so I can turn my friends into linux users... I am lost on this one I need a guru. Thanks.
