How to To re-initialize multimedia

Hello.
I has installed ubuntu hardy. everything was going very well about multimedia. I mean I was able to listen .mp3 files, watch .avi files etc. But i don't know why all this things stop to work. right now I can't do that. I want to know how can I do to clean all the system codecs and start it again. I don't know what to do. Please a little of help with this issue. Thank you.

Answer here: The Perfect Hardy

When you run that script, just choose yes (y) when it asks if you want to install Multimedia Codecs.

That'll give you everything from MP3 to video in Hardy.
