    sound stuck at 100%

After *finally* getting the sound working on my Toshiba Satellite A205-S5809, it's now stuck at 100%. It worked fine for awhile. It seems to have happened after installing VirtualBox with an XP guest machine.

    Any ideas?

UPDATE: Okay, it's not "stuck" at 100%...the volume slider was set to control the headphone volume instead of the master volume...but my volume knob on my laptop still controls the headphone volume. Before, it was controlling master. Any clue how to change which channel the external knob controls?

I think it's right click vol icon on panel - you get a list of the channels, click the mastervolume and it should be the one under control.
