Note Im not trying to be rude, I think that ubuntu should make money also but. (I also used ubuntu interchangiably with Canonical sorry will edit when i have had more sleap)
1. I think this is what you are talking about: http://www.ubuntulinux.org/partners/program
2. I think this is a bad idea since we (including mark) want to spread ubuntu not force people to buy a book inorder to understand it. I think that open source is usless without open documentation
3. great idea an you can do it now http://www.cafepress.com/ubuntushop (this is indorced by ubuntu and they get some profit from it)
4. not sure i understand
5. ewwwww on of the great things about oo software is no virus or spyware or any of that crap
6. never mark made ubuntu so that thirdworld contruies could run linux in schools (hence ebuntu) for him to make his goals the full featured ubuntu needs to be free
7. this would be a cool idea.
There was a vidieo on the forums a while back where mark was talking about ubuntu and its goals (i cant find the link but i can post a torrent if some one writes a how to lol, hes at a debian convention talking about the debian ubuntu fork, delta, spoon thingy lol) but in ths video he says "my goal is for Canonical is not to make money but to set a standard for other companies to base there services off" (or something like that). he also states that he has put enoughf money away in his will to keep ubuntu running for a very long time (more than our lifetime).
Should ubuntu make money yes and mark says this would be a great thing if ubuntu could become a self sustaining os, but it has to be done in a way that would not ruin any of the goals for ubuntu.
