Hy guys, im sure there are hundreds of linux users with this backlight problem so... i have been talking with a friend of mine in nvidia and he told me that the best way is send emails to nvidia bugs e-mail ( linux-bugs at nvidia.com ). So if we all send this e-mail maybe they fix this problem. BTW i noticed a new driver from nvidia but iv not tested yet...i am running linux on virtualbox now.... this a new version and they said that correct some bugs on 7/8/9 versions of the board. Here is the link..

If someone could test it the community appreciate...

The e-mail i sent to linux-bugs at nvidia.com

"Dear nvidia,

I have a Sony Vaio FZ21E with a vaio custom 8400gt and i can't change my screen backlight in linux or bsd...only windows and with the driversgiven by sony....
I am a linux user so i would like very much that you could give full
support to this card...since that the backlight supposily is controled
by the nvidia driver...
I'm sure hundred of linux/vaio users would appreciate that...
"

Regards....
