UAF Mirror

Anyone know why the Ubuntu repo mirror at ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu vanished? I was getting some good speeds from it.

Thanks. It seems to have re-appeared now.

Re: [SOLVED] UAF Mirror

The UAF server seems to be having issues again. This time with aptitude update:
Code:
99% [7 Packages bzip2 0] [Connecting to ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu
(137.229.25.178)]
bzip2: Compressed file ends unexpectedly;
perhaps it is corrupted? *Possible* reason follows.
bzip2: Inappropriate ioctl for device
Input file = (stdin), output file = (stdout)

It is possible that the compressed file(s) have become corrupted.
You can use the -tvv option to test integrity of such files.

You can use the `bzip2recover' program to attempt to recover
data from undamaged sections of corrupted files.

Err http://ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu intrepid/main Packages

  Sub-process bzip2 returned an error code (2)
Using System -> Administration -> Software Sources:
Code:

This occurs on two separate machines. Is anyone else having problems?

Re: UAF Mirror

I spoke with tech support, and this is a known issue. It appears the RAID has failed, and it is having trouble updating some files.
This is a low priority, and has been for almost a year now.

I was about to ask for this mirror to be removed due to it not working for almost a year and because the mirror maintainer never responded to my questions.
