Problem installing Kubuntu 8.04 in Virtual PC 2007

HELP!! I want to install Kubuntu 8.04 on Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 (host is windows vista), nobody gives guides for 8.04 but they give 7.10 guides. Any help? Thanks!

EDIT: More info, the CD was burned by me, and I think I burned it too fast, I think I will get a CD...

I guess I'm not familiar with virtual pc, but shouldn't it be the exact same procedure?

Same as kubuntu 7.10? Well, I tried and it didn't work.
Same as ubuntu 8.04? No, they have different parameters.
It could be that I burned my CD too fast.

If you still have the .iso file burn it at a slower speed... Also I don't think Linux works under virtual PC (at least stock.. Might work with tweaks) If you are unsuccessful try http://www.virtualbox.org/ It's also available for Linux... if you wanted to run windows in a virtual system.

Edit: I am running Kubuntu with KDE4 on my Ubuntu so im sure you can run it on Windows too. When it asks for what kind of OS you put Linux Kernal 2.6 If my memory is correct.

I think I will try downloading the ISO, and how in the heck could you re-write a CD? I haven't known you could do that.

VirtualBox doesn't work on windows, it won't give me an option to download it for windows.

EDIT: Downloading the ISO now, if I should do something else, tell me.

Yeah, VirtualBox or VMware are going to be your best bet if you have to hack VirtualPC to make it work. Both alternatives are going to run a much wider range of OS's.

    https://cds.sun.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP...-F@CDS-CDS_SMI

Where it says "Platform:" Click it and scroll down and look for windows (x86) or 64 if your running windows 64

I think you will have to burn it onto a new disk

I think VMware sucks now that I have used it, and I haven't found a windows download option on virtualbox download site.

Whoops, didn't notice you're post. Thanks! I'll try it now.

EDIT: Double whoops! I accidentally double posted! SORRY!
Another edit: VirtualBox nearly broke my computer! It was making it go crazy! I uninstalled it and it wasn't crazy anymore.
