PDF to OpenOffice Conversion with Diacritic Signs

Hi,

I have a .pdf file with diacritics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diacritic). I want to convert it into a OpenOffice friendly file, without loosing the diacritics. Every method I tried failed, the diacritics are always broken.

Is there a method to convert them properly?

The original format of this file is a WordPerfect one. Maybe it's easier with this one, but how? Every method I tried corrupts the diacritics.
