    Existing Server 6.06 to 8.04 Upgrade process

    All:

    I have an existing Ubuntu Server 6.06 installation. I would like to upgrade it to 8.04.

    Please can you let me know the process of how to upgrade the server?

    I will try the following steps:

    Network upgrade for Ubuntu servers (recommended)

    1. Install update-manager-core if it is not already installed:
    sudo aptitude install update-manager-core


    2.

    Launch the upgrade tool:

    sudo do-release-upgrade


    3.

    Follow the on-screen instructions.
