    Umlauts in filenames

    Any way to get around this? The error it gives me is "invalid encoding". English Ubuntu, German files.

    Do you use 8.04 or 7.10? I think that UTF-8 support is on by default at least for this two. One think that comes to my mind is - do you use fat? If I recall correctly it doesn't handle unicode.
