    museek: soulseek client

can you guys include museek? http://museek.thegraveyard.org/
nicotine is not developed anymore & it is quickly becoming
obselete and useless due to changes in soulseek.
museek is what is currently developed.

debs can be found here: http://thegraveyard.org/daelstorm/museekfaq.php#q6

    thanks

Not in Ubuntu... First get it into Universe.

i haven't tried it yet, but it looks like someone has managed to get museek running under breezy.

why it wasn't added to the universe after that, i don't know

Possibly because it hasn't been updated since July 2004, and is in a very early state. I'm sure there's not much desire to have unmaintained programs in the repositories.

Its running perfectly on breezy, though its a bit tricky
to compile because it uses the scons-buildsystem...

And it *has* been updated since 2004, just check out the SVN

I'm not sure the package maintainers have any interest in releasing random CVS/SVN checkouts, either. I've always been a nicotine user so I check out the museek website occassionally, and it just flat out looks like a dead project. There needs to be some semblence of organized effort.

A dead project? You gotta be kidding...

Actually, it's very much alive and the BEST soulseek client out there by far!

    Re: museek: soulseek client

nicotine plus just quit working on me altogether, but it was pretty sketchy using it anyways. i used nicotine on dapper drake, and it was alright, never had any big issues with it, but nicotine + worked so ****** on fiesty fawn and then quit working completely.
i'm using museekd now , which i like except for one problem.
For most of my file transfers, it will download the whole file and say 'error writing to file" and if i hit retry on the transfer it will finish, but some files i have to hit retry multiple times before it will finish. how in the world would i fix such a problem ?
