    cannot enable complex character input/scim

I want to use scim for chinese character input so i go to Language Support and tick chinese and support for complex character input.
After I reboot, the scim did not start up automatically.
So I launch it manually, but useless, cannot select input method, clicking on it does nothing (input methods should be shown), control space does nothing too.

then I go back to the Language Support, the character input options is untick. every time I tick it and click Apply, it will back to untick.

Please do not abuse these forums.

You already have a thread on this subject (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=890328), and people are helping you. You waste our time if you make us double up. We're not paid, you know.

Go back to that thread and give further information there.

Please also be clear about whether you use KDE (Kubuntu) or Xfce (Xubuntu).
If people were nicer, I'd answer more queries here!
