Very poor wireless performance on dual boot Ubunto Hardy H

Hi,

I just installed vista ultimate 64 bit and ubuntu hardy heron on a thinkpad x61. Vista wireless works great, however, with Ubuntu boot, wireless connection fails when machine is 3 or more meters away from the wireless modem. Is there a link to a forum discussion about this?

I'm using Atheros communication Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC(rev 01).

It would be great to get this connection working so I can uninstall Vista.
