Hi!

I have a problem when booting kubuntu, and i tried with ubuntu installation as well. This is a clean install which I updated in recovery mode. I also installed with 'nomodeset' option (had same problem during install). The system just stops when SCSI card reader is recognized. I get following message on boot:

Code:
Scsi 6:0:0:0: Direct-Access Generic- SD/MMC 1.00 PQ: 0 ANSI 0
Scsi 6:0:0:1: Direct-Access Generic- Compact Flash 1.01 PQ: 0 ANSI 0
Scsi 6:0:0:2: Direct-Access Generic- SM/xD-Picture 1.02 PQ: 0 ANSI 0
Scsi 6:0:0:3: Direct-Access Generic- MS/MS-Pro 1.03 PQ: 0 ANSI 0 ccs

sd 6:0:0:1: Attached scsi generic sg4 type 0
sd 6:0:0:2: Attached scsi generic sg5 type 0
sd 6:0:0:3: Attached scsi generic sg6 type 0

sd 6:0:0:0 [sdc] Attached SCSI removable disk
sd 6:0:0:2 [sde] Attached SCSI removable disk
sd 6:0:0:3 [sdf] Attached SCSI removable disk
I can boot in recovery mode, but that sucks.

The machine is a brand new HP Pavilion HPE series. My old Pavilion has the card readers connected to USB, and it works great. Is there a way to fix this, or even disable the card reader?

I don't want unplug the reader from the motherboard because i'm dual booting with windows 7, and i'd like to use the card reader at some point. Even if I have to do that with Windows
