When I was a child my older sisters and I drove a toothless middle aged woman insane from about 10am to roughly Midday; At Midday she came down from where she'd previously been yelling at us to be quiet, handed out cookies and said "well, I can't beat you, so I may as well join you" - she played with us till 4pm and made fast friends with our parents.
