That depends on how you look at it.
If I help somebody with their situation / issue they are having, I may get a reply back from the thread starter that needed the help. Hence the thread should be closed.

But some insist on keeping threads going on and on here, like it is some type of roller coaster ride.
Threads like that should be immediately deleted and frowned upon from the moderators and admin of the forum. It does not help anybody with the help they need, and bumps those threads farther down from getting help.

If you "Mark Forum as Read", and return thirty minutes later, you will find 250 new posts for you to read. Many have legit issues that need to be addressed, and many will never see the answer they are looking for. It will get lost in the forum that is buzzing with posters that post faster than you will ever read.

It is nice to see the forum with activity, but when that activity is put to useless posts, the new user with his/her unanswered questions are discouraged from posting any real issues any further.

So, if solving others issues / problems with Linux is considered a thread killer, then yes, I am one.
