As for your problem, what program are you using, what do you want to record, and what do you want to do. Are you trying to make a video of your desktop, capture some music off and online radio, what?

yea, i also would like to know if its possible to record digital sounds instead of from the mic in gtk-recordMYDesktop

see the only problem with istanbul is that i cant get it to stop recording! once i left-click it to start, i cant stop it. I end up having to kill the process.

I have an idea - is there an app to record audio only? If I could merge the video captured from recordMyDesktop and the audio recorded from that other app, it would be great.

surely theres a way to record using pcm as the source with recordmydesktop...

i have used a loopback cable from my amplifier and selected line in but i shouldnt have to...

my mixer wont show pcm as a input device.
