    Running .app files

    Hello!

I was wondering if it is possible to run a .app file on linux. (.app in the application files that Mac uses.)

If possible, please tell me how, i would like to know.

If impossible, then i will be on my way.

    Thanks Musick Man

So, that's a Mac application, right?

You can emulate old Macs on Ubuntu by using the basilisk2 package. As far as I know, the only way to emulate a modern Mac is to install the Macintosh operating system on to a virtual machine (such as VirtualBox). I don't think there is an equivalent to Wine (which can run individual Windows applications on Linux).

The file will contain code compiled specifically for the Mac. To use the same code for Linux, you'd have to get the source and compile it on Linux.
