Yeah I tried a little bit of goanna once (actually bungara). Wasn't enough to go around though. In this part of the world we call it "biawak". Here's a photo of one in my back yard (taken last week)...

If you can't be bothered writing coherently, I can't be bothered reading your post.

hehe. They are tasty, if you cook 'em right.
yep, we sure do. in Cairns, Queensland, there is a shop at the night markets where you can have a feed of kangaroo, or crocodile or Emu... they taste very very nice. make sure you try one

So let's say everyone DOES become some variety of vegetarian. Do we just needlessly slaughter all the cows, pigs, chickens and sheep that have been raised? Or sink a lot of money into them living out their (admittedly) wretched lives for no benefit to anyone?

Furthermore, humans evolved as omnivores. Meat is damn near essential to our diets. Sure, you CAN live without eating any meat, but not in any way that resembles a natural diet, i.e. men should not eat a diet in which soy provides a majority of protein, as it has been shown to significantly reduce fertility in men.

The only reasonable answer to this is to lower the human population to a level at which the production (and methods of production) of enough food to feed the extant population does not poison the planet.

Stop parroting useless extremest ideas and either offer useful ideas or don't offer any.
'Unnatural diet' and 'natural diet' = false dichotomy. So long as a diet which supplies all the nutrients that a human requires, that is all that matters. The very term 'natural' is empty and meaningless, since there is nothing outside of 'nature' as such.

Also, soy need not be the 'primary source of protein' in one's diet, if one is a vegetarian/vegan (although it is a very convenient and healthful one). And the 'reduction in fertility' that you mentioned is a finding from one study, which due to its methodology, may have contained confounds and has yet to be replicated. Even so, if it DOES decrease fertility in men, wouldn't this resolve the overpopulation problem that you referred to?

As for the guy who asked why it was disgusting: the consumption of animal flesh is disgusting.

As for the guy who said 'animals are made out of meat': so are you.

I do think we should eat more roo, Where im from were having some big culls atm. With the drought and all, there are to many roos, and not enough food.
Go out spotlighting, pick yourself a roo, and have a good feed, its cheap, (all it costs is the petrol and the cartriges and the cost to cook it) some vegies from the garden and your set! Roo kababs are ausome.
    BRING BACK TEH PONIES!

I think you'll find that there are many places in Australia where they have to cull roos because their populations get to big. I know they were a nuicense where I used to live. They would eat our garden and all the grass that was meant for the cows.
