    Problems With My Macbook Pro

Hey I set up Ubuntu to single boot on my Macbook Pro 15" C2D laptop. I have everything working nice now except for a few problems which I hope you guys can help me with.

    1) I installed the bcm5974 driver for the touchpad and it works great except usually every other reboot it isn't loaded so the touchpad won't work like it is supposed to until I reboot again. Why does it work sometimes when I boot and other times it doesn't?

    2) I installed pommed and got my function keys to work, but I can't use the keyboard backlight it won't turn on at all. All the other keys work fine though.

    3) This isn't really a problem but I was wondering if there is any way to get monitoring mode to work on an apple network card, I use ndiswrapper now and I believe monitor mode is unsupported on it. But I was wondering if there is another way. I want to go wardriving but can't cause of this. If I can't get it to work with this card are expresscards and pcmcia cards the same thing, cause I would just get one of those cards.

I would consult the wireless & networking forum. Be sure to use 'lspci' to get the model of your WiFi card. Also, no, expresscard is not the same formfactor as pcmcia.
