Stumbled on this thread while looking for help: Sound worked perfectly well for me in 7.10. Upgraded to 8.04.1 -- no sound at all, at all. Oh, well -- price of progress, eh?
bump for freedom!
multi-app-sound works even in firefox/flash after installing libflashsupport. mic is not working although...
some of the answers are kinda off, like i can only hear sound in 1 app at a time, and yes i have tried to fix, and no i have not yet fixed, so for me answering "sound in 1 app,did not try to fix" is the complete opposite to what i wanted to say
also things like, "some minor tweaking, some problems still exist, multi app."
so ive done minor tweaking, problems still remain, and no multi app, searching for solution to no avail.
for(i=1;i==1;i+i-i)
cout << "^G nothing to see here";
I didn't do the poll, as I don't care about multi-app sound.
I got rid of pulse and work through alsa and jack.
No probs there....
Mine works perfectly, multi-app... but... I removed Pulse audio I just use ALSA
