PCMCIA for Network Security

I currently have Broadcoms BCM4318 wireless chip on my laptop
and im looking to get a new pcmcia,i didn't try using my current chip since it gave me headaches in the past, but now i need a wireless connection.
I have a network security course and im looking for a card that will support all Network Security features like Monitor mode and such required
i check the supported for Ubuntu on

but like i said,i need one for NS reasons and im not sure which are fully supported for the job

or direct link to the chipsets but i forget exatly where i found it but there is a link some where to a site that tells you make and model that house chipsets...... if i find it i'll post it... lol it on the chip set site the links to madwifi and such just above the table check those links to..

if there atheros someone correct me if i'm wrong but from what i understand
atheros is the best way to go ... personally i'd go netgear over 3com but it's more personal preference ... but i looked up the cards you picked and ya both should work just fine
