    POSIX Standards Papers Proprietary?!

It looks like only the latest POSIX standards are available through an IEEE partner which requires registration at their website.

Lots of man pages' documentation references older POSIX standard papers.

I'm finding it a bit discomforting when reading the man pages of GPL software only to find a redirection to the documentation to a POSIX paper that must be purchased.

    Look here: http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/009695399/
or here for the static (less cluttered) pages : http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/...99/mindex.html

You can download the web documentation for offline use too: http://www.opengroup.org/onlinepubs/.../susv3.tar.bz2
