Question [SOLVED] The red triangle on the desktop. Updates?

    Hi,

Thanks for Mythbuntu it's pretty damn great!

Sorry if this is an awful, newbie kind of question, but whilst tinkering with the Mythbuntu setup, I've seen a red triangle warning icon on the gnome toolbar. I clicked this and after sometime it listed about 80mb of updates.

Is this functionality likely to derail my Mythbuntu setup or is it the desired and correct thing to do?

There are some security updates in there and loads of ffmpeg, nvidia, vlc, xine etc. type of updates. But what worries me were the looks of a new kernel update in there too.

they are good for you. The kernel updates will go smoothly and you will start using the updated kernel after the next time you restart.

Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

I have a couple of MythTv issues that I'm fixing, once I have those nailed, I'll get the updates.
