Buring a disc from Exernal installation from the Internal Hard Drive???
Did you get all that?
Here is the situation, I am right now backing up the critical documents from my internal hard drive as it seems there needs to be in need of a full reinstall of Ubuntu. The transfer process is a bit slow though and my music folder is going to take FOREVER... So here is what I want to do.
1. Copy the most important documents via USB from internal to external
2. Use Gparted to make a small partition on the external for a Clean Ubuntu install.
3. Install Ubuntu on that new partition
4. Use the new Ubuntu installation to boot from while it is connected to my laptop.
5. Access the files stored on my internal hard drive
6. Burn them onto a DVD disc from the burner on the laptop. (should be a lot faster than the USB transfer taking place right now)
Seems pretty straight forward to me, but I want to know if it is possible first.
