    friend requests

i've got a friend request that needs a specific yes or no reply, i don't want any friends, but i don't like to just say no. but, i can make an acception in this case =P j/k it's nothing againt this person, i'm just not interested in making friends lol (they should name it something else because that last bit sounds a bit funny, although i am pretty anti-social)

is there a way to permanently turn off that feature? i can't find it!

You can just not give any answer, or just have them as a contact. Saying "no" doesn't send a "I hate you so don't ask to be my friend PM", they just don't get you as a friend.

Say "no" to them. They aren't notified. You will be a contact on their list, but that will only allow you to give them PM's or messages if they have such communication limited to contacts.

    Re: friend requests

Reminds me of what happened to me the other day: I had a request on gaim/pidgin to add me to their contacts, from someone whose ID I didn't recognized. A day or so later, an IM comes back, "Who are you?", followed by an interaction of the "maybe fate brought us together" kind, where I pointed out that I was married and not looking.....they're not on my list of contacts anymore....
