amsn can't seem to log in

I just reinstalled ubuntu after trying out suse and mandriva. I installed amsn from synaptic and let my system update. Then I tried to sign into my msn account using amsn, it says its logging in and shows the bar moving, then after a while says error connecting to server and tries reconnecting. I left it for an hour and it still couldnt sign in, I also had this problem last night, my mate told me his friend is having a problem with amsn not working as well although didn't specify what it was, but probably wouldn't have mentioned it if it was different. Is there any solution to this?

It may be something with the aMSN network -- I'm also unable to log in with aMSN right now ( 05/08/2008 ) nor could I last night (I've tried both direct connect and via http). Emesene signs in no problem, as does Pidgin. Try a different app for now.

I was having the same problem. Solved it by downloading amsn from its website using the Tcl/Tk84 installer. It is working now.

I have this too, I'm guessing that it's a problem with the aMSN network, so I'm using Emesene (which connects just fine) in the meanwhile.
