<p>Fabio Massimo Di Nitto has officially announced the <a href="http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-announce/2005-October/000040.html">Ports Archive</a> for IA64 (Itanium), HPPA (1.1 or later), and UltraSPARC. A purely volunteer effort, the ports team will make Ubuntu available to communities sometimes neglected by other distributions.
