i downloaded the linux version of the appropriate ATI driver for my laptop, but it came in a .run extension, and my laptop is bewildered, as am I.

ok well i ran the .run file in terminal, but how can i see if the drivers installed?
also, the filename is ati-driver-installer.8.28.8.run

a new issue - removing the Mesa Drivers and putting the ATI drivers in place of.. is there another way besides what the wiki recommends? it doesnt seem to work for me..
