    Troubleshooting Tips for MCEUSB2 Remote?

    Hi, Everyone,

I've installed Mythbuntu 8.04.1 and am having issues with getting a MCEUSB2 remote (Philips) to work correctly.
Running IRW shows that it's receiving all the buttons, but nothing happens at the MythTV frontend.

I guess it looks like lirc/lircd isn't communicating with the MythTV frontend. Do I need to relocate/make a copy of the config files to a different profile or anything?
Autologon user is sstrick on the box...

Thanks for any insight - I'm this close to getting a base system running...
This will be my first experience with IR blasters and digital cable boxes, but I'm really looking forward to having a nice MythTV box again (ran KnoppMyth for years with great results, but have been running Ubuntu on my work laptop for over a year now and decided I'd like to try this instead).

Re: Troubleshooting Tips for MCEUSB2 Remote?

    OK, an update:

The remote works so long as I don't configure an IR blaster to control my Scientific Atlanta STB. If I add the IR blaster in the Mythbuntu Control Centre then the remote stops working pretty quickly.

Go into your /etc/lirc/lircd.conf. You will see one entry for your remote and one for your IR Blaster. Using the MCC will put the remote first and IR Blaster second. Reverse them, i.e. put the include for the IR Blaster first and then the include for the remote.

    It should work.

Restart LIRC: sudo /etc/init.d/lirc restart or reboot!
