First of all - HP dv6700 laptop. BEAUTIFUL install, except for the wireless card, but minor tweaking as suggested in the forums took care of that. Every single aspect of this laptop worked with the default install (sans wireless).
Here is where it gets interesting...
I have a few Virt. Dedicated servers from GoDaddy. One of them does not respond to requests made from this laptop. Everything else works like a charm, e-mail, www, etc etc on every other site and GoDaddy VDed server I can find. Except one.
I can boot to Vista and reach the site perfectly fine with the same laptop -- its not hardware. Can hit it just fine with another Ubuntu machine I have.
I get the correct IP address when using the domain name, so DNS is OK.
I can (get this) ping the IP and get a reply.
Port 80? Nothing. FTP, POP3, SMTP, SSH - nothing,
I am completely out of ideas or places to look....
