    External Monitor on Laptop

I have an LG monitor with VGA input that I'd like to connect to my laptop with integrated Intel graphics.

Ubuntu doesn't detect the monitor at all.

Ubuntu is using the "Intel experimental modesetting driver".

What do I do to make this work?
    Thanks.

Have you tried the Fn keys? On my laptop, if I press Fn+F5, with the F5 button having two squares, one inside the other, that activates the external monitor.
