    very little resolution

Hi everybody I have a Toshiba Portege 3500 and I went to install Ubuntu on it and the OS doesn't take up the full screen, but just a section of it. How do I get the full screen in this program. One thing I tried was installing the xorg trident driver which was recognized as an update I have no idea whats going on here. I tried to do the settings and the resolution only goes up to 800x600. This laptop has the Trident Cyberblade XP Ai1 for its graphics card. I have no problem with it in Windows XP.
if anybody can help I'd appreciate it.

    buzz,

I'm having the exact same problem with my 3500. I haven't been able to find a solution so far, but if I do, I'll let you know. And if you figure it out, drop me a line.

    Just a guess here...
System > Preferences > Screen Resolution
    Click the "Detect Displays" button

I don't know if that will help, I think it detects your resolution, but I'm not sure.
    Hope it helped!
