[SOLVED] Change Ubuntu theme into Windows 98

I want to change Ubuntu theme and icons into Windows 98. I have theme, splash, and windows 95 login screen for ubuntu, but no icons.

Does anyone have Windows 95/98/2000 icons in a png/bitmap/jpg format?

There was a thread a while back that got off topic and started talking about Windows 98 theme, but for the life of me, I can't find it.

I am pretty new to Ubuntu and am having problems installing the Windows 98 icon pack. I have 10.04 and when I tried to install it it gives me the "This does not appear to be a valid theme" error. I even tried extracting the theme and placing it into the .themes folder but nothing appears when I go theme installer. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have 86x bit or 64x bit OS? Are you under kDE or Gnome? When you tried installing it, did you go through Appearance Preferences menu? Have you tried configure, make, and make install?

I have 64x bit and gnome and I did go through appearance preferences but I continue to get the error. I don't even know what configure, make, and make install is. Also, sorry about the late reply. If you have any other suggestions I would appreciate it.

I too would like a windows 98 theme on this but I also can't figure out how to install this theme. I also get the "This isn't a theme pack" error.
