I went to Google Transliteration Page and typed LaRoza and I got the Hindi version (I had to open Firefox though(yes I generally use Opera))
Also you CAN type in Hindi in Ubuntu by:
System->Administration->Language Support
And install the Hindi Pack.
And you could then type in Hindi using Ubuntu.
I use Opera also and find Google's support for Opera terrible (Opera is very standards compliant, and it shouldn't be hard to support...)
You can also go to http://hi.wikipedia.org and type in the seach box with Opera, it also does transliteration (but doesn't work in Fx 3).
I don't use GNOME, so I am looking for a way to turn off and on without having to log out or anything.
