I have just installed Ubuntu 8.04, and somehow (I can't remember how) managed to configure my mouse in such a way that merely hovering above a document results in that document being made active and rising to the foreground. This, it turns out, is a horribly unpleasant feature, and I would like to turn it off. Unfortunately, I really can't remember how I activated it in the first place (I presume I was playing around on the system menu, but all of my efforts to duplicate the feat have failed.) Systems-->preferences-->mouse seems like a promising bet, but the 'dwell click' checkbox is not marked and nonetheless I am experiencing this behavior. If anyone knows how to disable this feature, I would be most obliged if you would share that knowledge.
Many thanks,
Carl
