Unhappy upgrade to 8.04 broke gnome

    hi there,

today i finally upgraded to 8.04 which i thought was a simple software upgrade process...until after everything had downloaded and installed, upon rebooting the machine, typed in my user name and password....but an error message then comes up and says i should possibly try safe mode.

has anyone else had a similar problem or heard of this problem.

any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to go about fixing this problem. please feel free to message me if you require any more info.

    kind regards

    liam

    Running in terminal:

    Code:
    sudo aptitude reinstall gnome
    should solve your problems.
