The update manager is usually a few days-weeks behind on updates. And will only reliese security fixes. Give it some time. If you want the updates NOW, then you can download firefox from the official website. But I don't recommend this.

Firefox 3.0.1 has not been added to the Ubuntu repositories yet. It can only be installed from source and I'd recommend you'd stick to 3.0 for now. What feature are you missing? Is 3.0 buggy?
One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, speak a few reasonable words...
For 8.04, I believe that update is in the proposed repository. If you want to give it a whirl, enable the proposed repository under software sources. Be aware that packages placed in that repository are basically provided for testing, as I understand it; so, it might "break". Good luck.
Firefox 3.0 isn't buggy, except the homepage won't open when i launch fox. I just get a blank page and then have to hit the home icon for the homepage to load.
I read somewhere that 3.0.1 fixes that in Linux
Not a big deal, though. I'll wait for the update to show up.
Thanks ya'll
