I've been searching this issue for weeks now and have found no solution that works. The details are this:

I'm running Hardy on a Lenovo T60 laptop. About once a day, the laptop completely locks up. I'm about 90% positive it's related to network I/O. It always seems to happen when I open up a new page from FireFox or downloading something.

Any suggestions?
