OSS Question. Real basic.
I was just browsing some threads here about PulseAudio and OSS and whatnot... I started to think, maybe I should give OSS a chance. Alsa has worked for me, but everything I hear about OSS seems to be pretty positive. I've already tried Pulse, and uh, let's not get started.
The question I have is more like confusion. OSS is open source, correct? Yet it requires a 6 month validation key? Are you serious? Why? What's the purpose of offering a temporary license on a free open source product?
It just makes me wonder, if I ever set up an Ubuntu machine for somebody I just know that 6 months later I'll get a call and they'll be complaining...
