    [SOLVED] Can't get Creative Audigy sound card to work

    I have a dual boot - xp pro and ubuntu 8.04 I have no problem with using my creative audigy sound card with xp pro but I get NO sound with ubuntu. Can anyone tell how to get the sound card to work with ubuntu? thanks

    Sometimes a simple solution is to look up on your top panel for the little speaker icon, usually next to the date. Double click on it, if in the pop up there's a tab for switches open it and set the analog/digital output jack to the opposite of what it is now.

    Otherwise try running
    Code:
    alsamixer
    in a terminal and make sure the various outputs are turned on. (master thru surround )
