Solved: Trying to use USB headphones
Good day everyone. I am trying to use a pair of USB headphones (logitech headset) but they are not working. I have plugged them in and selected them as the mixer but sound still plays through my computer speakers.
I am using ubuntu studio (hardy heron 8.04) on a fujitsu t4215.
Any help would be appreciated.
*Ok so i got sound to work, i had to restart, re-select the usb device in the mixer and set all of the drop sowns to use USB audio rather than ALSA.

Re: Trying to use USB headphones
I am having the same problem, except I didn't understand your solution. The sound will play in the headset for everything I can set it to work for in Preferences, but it won't work for all applications (like Firefox). I've read there are ways to make the sound output to your headset for individual applications, but is there a system wide way to set it up so that all applications use the headset for sound output instead of the onboard soundcard?
