Using a shared computer/a computer where I don't have admin privileges makes me die a little on the inside. I cry a bit every day when I have to use the computers at my office. The company I work for has them locked down tighter than Hitler's ass and will only let us use an outdated version of IE on a machine with Windows 7. There are literally a dozen problems with the Cisco software on them that could be fixed in under a minute, but without admin access... And they won't let me use my laptop instead of one of their computers. I'm literally the only one who seems bothered by it; I don't know that it makes me a geek, perhaps just a bit neurotic.

What the heck is IE?? I've heard of BSD and GNU and GPL but they don't make me wince. Is it:Oh! Maybe I get it now. When you have to i.e. something; that is, explain it three or four times to a Windows friend, it makes you wince?? Did I get it?!i.e. is used to explain, clarify or rephrase a statement rather than listing options, in which case e.g. should be used.
