I just completely removed support for the paper clip and the little dog on the search page from my windows CD (via nlite). I've noticed that configuring windows before it even installs actually makes it usable!

On topic:
Some people like to tinker with autos, tune their engines.
You like to tinker with software, tune the source.

Some people boast when they make a nice part for their custom modification roadsters.
You boast when you write a nice patch for Xorg.

And to boast: I just finished adding software-side "emulation" of two-finger scroll (like on macbooks) to the synaptics touchpad driver. My hardware doesn't support this, but I added a clever trick to the driver.
When I innocently started using Linux, I didn't think that in 2 years I will be diving in the source of a xorg module. But, damn, it feels good!

11) You know what FOSS is, and GPL, etc...

12) You know the inner workings and future of DRM, that no matter how hard you try, others around you dont seem to "get it" and your angered that they dont even care.

13) Your the only computer user you know thats annoyed by WGA, Activation, DRM, "Trusted Computing" etc.....

14) You wish you could make a stand against the big software companies

15) The internet is vital to your existance

16) You'd rather stay in on your computer than go out.

17) You wish you could controll your whole life through your computer

18 ) You need to replace your keyboard every year due to "wear and tear"

19) You wish everybody would "leave you alone"

20) You cant understand how others around you can manage to tie their shoe laces they are so dumb.

People occasionally tell the same to me.
And I have the same worries afterwards!

It also is sometimes quite disturbing to think the amounts of below-average intelligent people... and what high-responsibility work they are doing. (I could think of few such people)
